Do you know muqarnas?
Muqarnas from Islamic architecture is a 3D composition: layers of small cells used in ceilings, vaults, and domes.
It is not random ornament.
It is repeatable units, stacked and stepped.
Today, this reads as parametric thinking, and it is shown at the Mori Art Museum.
So if you want the space to feel elevated, don't design a ceiling.
Design a sky that reflects emotion through shadow and light.
