What More Light Really Means

The most common request we receive is also the one that most often needs to be reconsidered: more light.

The most common request we receive is also the one that most often needs to be reconsidered: more light.

It seems simple, but light without contrast flattens everything it touches.

The stone loses depth.

The ceiling loses shadow.

The calm the room was built around disappears.

When we explain this with samples at different levels, clients almost always understand, not because they were wrong, but because they were imagining one kind of comfort and the room was already offering them another.

What they wanted was more light.

What they discovered with us was more balance.
