Proportion repeats like a heartbeat.
Walk through a well-designed house, and you may notice that certain proportions seem to repeat even when the rooms are very different.
A relationship established in the first sketches can reappear in a doorway, the spacing of a window, the depth of a shelf, or the width of a passage.
It is rarely an exact copy.
It is a family of related proportions that gives the house continuity.
The client may never measure it, but they feel that every room belongs to the same idea.
The house feels whole when the same sense of proportion connects every room.
